Michael has spent 50 years in this industry – initially with Exxon Production in various upstream supervisory positions in Reservoir, Drilling, Production, Civil and Offshore Construction and subsequently with Brown & Root / KBR in engineering design supervision and project management of major upstream and downstream projects worldwide.
Currently he works as KBR’s modularization specialist, developing feasibility studies and follow-up planning and execution efforts on module projects worldwide.
Michael’s CII University of Texas research efforts include Modularization Planning, Standardization, Advance Work Packaging, and the development of 2 industry module application guides. He chaired the CII Modularization Community of Business Advancement for 12 years and presented Modularization Best Practices at various Universities across the country.
More importantly, while Covid slowed the industry down, Michael and Dr. Jin Ouk Choi developed and completed a concept “soup to nuts” book on modularization. The combination post-grad textbook and industry primer is a must read for anyone “thinking” about modularization and was published in January 2023 by JW Wiley.
