Alex serves as Director of Site Operations for Shell Polymers Monaca, overseeing the operations of a world-scale ethane cracker and polyethylene facility near Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Since joining Shell in 2006, Alex has held diverse leadership roles spanning operations, strategy, and commercial functions across Canada, Qatar, and the United States. Before assuming responsibilities at Shell Polymers, Alex spent four years in corporate roles in Houston, first as Senior Strategy Advisor for Refining and Chemicals and later as Chief of Staff to the Executive Vice President. In these positions, Alex played a key role in transforming Refining and Chemicals into a more competitive and resilient business within Shell’s global portfolio. Alex holds an Honours Bachelor of Applied Science in Engineering Physics from Queen’s University in Kingston, Canada, and remains actively engaged in graduate recruitment and mentorship. Beyond professional commitments, Alex contributes to multiple industry conference advisory boards, non-profit organizations, and employee-led networks
