Who we are

Mangan Inc. is a nationally recognized specialty engineering, automation, and integration firm serving safety-critical process industries. Founded in Long Beach, California in 1991, we are a 100% employee-owned (ESOP) company of roughly 350 employee-owners working from nine offices across California, Colorado, Texas, Louisiana, Georgia, North Carolina, and New Hampshire. Our work has earned Control Engineering's System Integrator of the Year, a ranking among the top 10 system integrators worldwide for three consecutive years, and recognition from EHS Today as one of America's Safest Companies. What we offer

We deliver full-lifecycle engineering and automation across six connected disciplines, from front-end engineering and design (FEED) through detailed design, integration, factory and site acceptance testing, commissioning, startup, and ongoing lifecycle support:

Control & Automation Systems — DCS, PLC, SCADA, and HMI design, modernization, and migration; advanced process control; burner management systems (BMS); control system integration. We work vendor-neutral, with certifications and partnerships including Rockwell Automation, Inductive Automation Ignition (Gold-level), AVEVA, and Canary, and CSIA control system integrator certification.

Functional Safety & SIS — a team of 40+ certified functional safety engineers delivering LOPA, safety instrumented function (SIF) allocation, safety requirement specification (SRS) development, SIL verification, safety instrumented system (SIS) integration, FAT, commissioning, and functional safety assessments (FSA), aligned to IEC 61511 and OSHA PSM.

Power & Electrical Engineering — substation and power distribution design, arc flash and NFPA 70E analysis, protective relay replacement, load flow and short-circuit studies, battery energy storage, and microgrids, delivered as utility-grade electrical engineering.

Analyzer & Measurement — process and environmental analyzer engineering, continuous emissions monitoring systems (CEMS), analyzer cabinets, shelters and houses, plus custody-transfer measurement, metering, and prover consultation and QA.

OT Networking & Cybersecurity — industrial network design and Operational Technology (OT) cybersecurity, including consulting, and regulatory compliance support.

Software & Operations Platforms — Mangan continuity, a modular terminal management and operations system for truck, rail, marine, pipeline, inventory, ticketing, documentation, and reporting workflows; Software Solutions and the SLM platform for process safety, functional safety, SIS lifecycle management, and asset integrity; and Smart Instrumentation (SPI/INtools) administration.

Who it's for

We serve owner/operators, EPC firms, and OEMs across refining, midstream, chemicals, oil & gas, power and utilities, renewables and alternative fuels, and pharmaceutical and life sciences. Our engagement model is flexible: we work directly for owner/operators, partner alongside and under EPC contractors, and can take on an integrated, EPC-lite delivery role when a project calls for a single accountable engineering partner. Our midstream portfolio spans pipelines, booster and compressor stations, tank farms and terminals, and gas processing, treating, and fractionation — including terminal and VLCC berth expansions, pipeline origination, injection and delivery facilities, custody measurement and proving, and large-scale cryogenic gas plant and NGL fractionator controls.
